INAGURATION 2025

The inauguration of the CU Kengeri ACM Student Chapter took place on 28 November 2025 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore Kengeri Campus. The program included the formal launch of the chapter followed by a technical talk titled "Life with AI" delivered by Ms. Latha Raj, Program Director and Technology & Talent Consultant at IBM India Software Lab. The event combined ceremonial proceedings with a focused discussion on AI, its role in education, and skill development for students.

Ms. Latha Raj is Program Director and Technology & Talent Consultant at IBM India Software Lab. With over 30 years of experience in corporate business and IT, she has led major technology and skill development initiatives across India and abroad. Her contributions include projects such as Naan Mudhalvan and AI curriculum implementation for CBSE, and her programs have impacted more than 1.5 million learners. She has served on several national academic and industry councils and received awards including the Women Achiever Award (2022). At this event she presented "Life with AI", sharing practical insights on AI adoption, ethics, and skill readiness.

CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was born out of the educational vision of St Kuriakose Elias Chavara, an educationalist and social reformer of the nineteenth century in South India. He founded the first Catholic indigenous congregation, Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), in 1831 which administers CHRIST (Deemed to be University).
